O~Geocache

Are you one of those people who never ask for directions? Do you know where you are going by tracking the constellations? Or are you always turned around and often lose your car in the parking lot? Don’t know north from south? Believe it or not, we have a fun event for you no matter your navigation skills. Whether you want to prove to the world your built-in compass always points north or if you need some “direction,” come out and join us at Conway Robinson Memorial State Forest in Gainesville for a morning of navigational and outdoor fun. Using a provided map you will guide yourself or your team to 20 checkpoints set throughout the forest. “Sounds too easy,” I hear the navigators say. Well, you will only have an hour and a half to collect all the points—which makes it more challenging for the expert and provides a set time period of suffering for the novice (just kidding). Checkpoints will have values depending on their difficulty to locate, so having a strategy will be key.

For the Geocache category, coordinates will be provided and a GPS device can be used to locate hidden treasures throughout the forest. A perfect weekend treasure hunt. Gather your friends and come join us. You know you want to.
