Spring Thaw Trail Series: Trail Run & Mountain Bike

Race day information for the Spring Thaw races at the Greens can be found here.

For 2014 the REV3 Adventure trail series is back, catering to the trail runner, mountain biker, or anyone who enjoys both. This year we have added an additional location, Fountainhead Regional Park, to complement the great trails at Willowsford’s the Grant and the Greens located in Loudoun County. Come and race one event or tackle all six to earn the title Trail Master. The series consists of three trail run events and three mountain bike events. We will crown a trail runner series champ, a mountain bike series champ, and–if you have the skills to race both on foot and wheels–the series champ of Trail Master.

With dedicated private single-track trails at Willowsford and the classic technical trails at Fountainhead we will capture race times with our bib chip timing system. At Willowsford we will have post-race food and refreshments, including beer from local breweries. At Fountainhead you can expect a hot dog and chili feast. Bring on spring already.

If you raced with us last year in our Willowsford trail series, note that we are doing things a little differently in 2014. Now you’ll have two chances to be Trail Master–the Spring Thaw will count as one series, and the timing starts over with the Fall Foliage races.

Saturday, March 8thThe Grant at Willowsford

Come pound out some trails and keep that New Year’s resolution alive. Our 2nd annual Spring Thaw Dash will get you up, out, and saying good bye to the winter blues. Willowsford, a new community in Ashburn, Virginia, where the vision is “Inspired Living,” has a purpose-built trail system with a variety of terrain features, offering runners and riders a fun and moderately challenging course. You will take single track through Willowsford’s Conservancy areas, passing through open fields, pine forests, and thick oak groves. Come and experience the best of Virginia’s countryside on two wheels or two feet. Trail Map.
