Weekend Warrior Wang Chung MTB Race
You don’t need to know what a wang chung is to know that REV3 Adventure’s first-ever dedicated mountain bike race will be fantastic. If you have never competed before but want to test the waters, this race is perfect. Sign up for the Newbie category. That’s not to say we don’t have something for the veterans and the riders with a few events under their belt. You know we do. You should sign up as Weekend Warriors.
Drag the rest of the family out too so that they can not only bask in the glory of your trail-ripping skills but also have a chance to take part themselves. The Young Warriors category is for budding Mountain Bikers (and Adventure Racers) ages 10 to 16.
With two lung-busting climbs and two heart-pounding downhill sections per lap, you are going to be in for a fun time. It’s short and it’s fast with each lap just over 6 miles.
For anyone who has been riding at Shenandoah River State Park you know what a fantastic trail system they have. If you haven’t been to the park, take this race as an opportunity to visit and enjoy it.
Classes and Schedule
We are keeping it simple because we don’t like to make things complicated. If you have never done a race before but want to give it a go, sign up as a newbie. If you have a few races under your belt, you are a weekend warrior.
Each class will ride around the Point Lookout and Allen’s Mountain loops a prescribed number of times. Start and finish line will be at the Massanutten Pavilion in Shenandoah River State Park, VA.
